Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 April 2026

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Reroy Cables Limited (trading as Reroy Electric), a company incorporated in Ghana with its head office in Accra and manufacturing operations in Tema.

We operate the website at reroyelectric.com. Any reference to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refers to Reroy Cables Limited.

2. What Data We Collect

Information you provide

  • Contact form — name, company name, email address, phone number, inquiry type, and your message.
  • Distributor application form — company name, contact name, email address, phone number, territory, business type, years in business, warehouse size, annual revenue, and a description of your business interest.
  • Newsletter subscription — email address only.

Information collected automatically

When you browse our website, we collect certain technical and usage information, including pages viewed, referring URL, browser and device type, approximate date and time, and a pseudonymous visitor identifier stored in a first-party cookie. We may derive approximate location (such as country, region, or city) from your IP address using our hosting provider and/or a third-party IP intelligence service. We do not use browser GPS geolocation unless we explicitly request permission for a specific feature that requires it.

For security and fraud prevention we may process IP addresses or a one-way hash of the IP (not the raw IP in all internal logs). Where a cookie is present, form submissions may be associated with the same pseudonymous visitor record used for browsing activity.

3. Non-essential analytics

We use connection-related technical signals (including signals our hosting provider may attach at the edge, and IP-derived signals) to determine which of the analytics control flows below applies to your visit. If we cannot determine this reliably, we apply the flow that requires a prior choice before non-essential analytics runs.

Non-essential analytics — prior choice

For visitors we associate with the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, or Brazil, non-essential analytics—including page views and usage analytics described under "Information collected automatically"—does not run until you accept via the on-site control. Until then, we do not record those analytics for your visitor profile. You may change your choice through the same control when it is shown, or as described in the cookies section.

Non-essential analytics — default operation and opt-out

Where the prior-choice flow does not apply, non-essential analytics may run using the technical data described in this policy. You may decline non-essential analytics using the on-site control; if you do, we stop recording those analytics for your visitor profile from that point.

If you use technologies that alter how your connection appears to our systems, the analytics flow you see may differ from what would otherwise apply. Use the on-site choices when shown, or contact us.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use first-party cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:

  • Essential / security — for example session security for our staff admin area and CSRF protection.
  • Visitor identifier — to group page views into a session for analytics and lead context.
  • Analytics choices — to remember analytics-related choices where applicable.

You can revisit your choice through the same banner when it is shown, or by clearing site cookies (which may reset preferences).

5. How We Use Your Data

We use personal and technical data for purposes including:

  • To respond to enquiries and process distributor applications.
  • To send newsletters where you have subscribed.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website, including aggregated or regional reporting on traffic and interest.
  • To operate optional analytics in line with the choices and technical controls described in this policy.
  • To maintain records for legal, security, and operational purposes.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). Where mandatory local law applies to you, it applies alongside this policy. Depending on context, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • Consent — for example newsletter subscriptions, and where we request consent before non-essential analytics.
  • Legitimate interests — for example network security and understanding corporate website traffic in a proportionate way.
  • Contract / pre-contract — where processing is necessary to respond to a commercial enquiry or application.
  • Legal obligation — where the law requires us to retain or disclose information.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or other regions with specific privacy regimes, you may have additional rights; nothing in this policy is intended to reduce protections that apply to you under mandatory law.

7. Data Storage, Processors & Transfers

Your data is stored in a secure cloud database hosted by Neon (PostgreSQL), on infrastructure that may be located outside Ghana (commonly the United States). Our website is hosted on Vercel, which may process technical routing and delivery data from your connection in the course of operating the site. Email notifications are sent via Resend. Approximate IP-based location may be enriched using IPLocate (or similar providers we configure). Admin file uploads may use Vercel Blob.

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS where applicable. Access to stored business submissions is restricted to authorised personnel and protected by authenticated admin sessions.

8. Retention

We retain contact and distributor application data for up to 3 years from the date of submission, or longer where a business relationship or legal obligation requires. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Analytics and page-view records are retained for a limited period configured in our systems (for example on the order of months), after which they may be deleted or aggregated. Geo-enrichment cache entries are refreshed or expire on a rolling basis.

9. Your Rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data, subject to any legal retention obligations.
  • Withdraw consent for newsletter communications at any time.
  • Object to processing of your data for certain purposes, where applicable law allows.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at sales@reroycable.com. We will respond within 30 days unless a longer period is permitted by law.

10. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites (such as LinkedIn or WhatsApp). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal data to them.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Any material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
